Morocco launches "Yalla", the must-have mobile application for CAN 2025 fans

In the run-up to the African Cup of Nations (CAN) 2025, to be held in Morocco from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026, the country is preparing to welcome fans with innovative initiatives. Among these, the "Yalla" mobile application stands out as a centralized tool to facilitate visitors' stay.

Yalla: A one-stop shop for fans

"Yalla" is designed to simplify the fan experience by centralizing essential services such as:

• Managing visa applications.
• Purchase of match tickets.
• Accommodation booking.
• Access to match schedules and real-time information on stadium venues and entry points.
• Practical information on restaurants, tourist sites and local safety measures.

The application will also enable the Moroccan authorities to screen visitors before they arrive, in collaboration with Interpol and the soccer federations, in order to deny access to stadiums to people with a history of violence.

Facilitating access to the region with e-visa

In order to attract a large number of international fans, the Moroccan authorities are planning to step up security for arrivals. Border controls will be stepped up, particularly at airports and land entry points. An electronic visa has been specially designed for the event.

Since the introduction of electronic visas in July 2022By the end of 2024, Morocco had granted almost 386,000 e-visas, the vast majority of which (95%) were for tourism. This initiative attracted travelers from 111 different countries, demonstrating the diversification of the Kingdom's tourism markets, with significant growth in applications from certain countries: India, Pakistan, Nigeria and Egypt.

Enhanced security and tourism promotion

In addition to the "Yalla" application, Morocco will be stepping up security measures on the ground with a massive deployment of law enforcement officers, a video surveillance system and strict supervision of foreign fan groups.

The CAN 2025 is a unique opportunity for Morocco to promote its sports tourism and showcase its culture and hospitality. The event will take place in six cities: Agadir, Casablanca, Fez, Marrakech, Rabat and Tangier, offering visitors a glimpse of the country's rich diversity.

A springboard to the 2030 World Cup

The organization of the CAN 2025 is seen as a dress rehearsal for the 2030 World Cup, which Morocco will co-host with Spain and Portugal. The country intends to take advantage of this event to prepare its infrastructure, security teams and facilities for international fans and media.

Thanks to the "Yalla" application and other measures put in place, Morocco aims to make the CAN 2025 a resounding success and consolidate its position as a leading sports and tourist destination.
