This decision was confirmed by the Malaysian Embassy in Yangon in a Facebook post, stating that a later announcement will be made when service resumes.

The 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck central Myanmar as well as parts of neighboring Thailand. According to the latest reports, the human toll is at least 3,645 dead, 5,017 injured and 148 missing.
However, business visa applications will continue to be accepted as normal. In addition, the authorities have refused access to foreign media wishing to cover the affected areas, citing a lack of adequate infrastructure to accommodate them.
In response to the disaster, relief teams from 26 countries are collaborating with local aid groups. Despite this, the military government requires that any foreign intervention be authorized in advance and carried out in cooperation with local authorities. The United Nations estimates that over 17.2 million people live in the affected areas, including 9.1 million exposed to the strongest tremors. They are calling for urgent assistance to meet basic needs such as food, drinking water and emergency shelter.
Despite the scale of the humanitarian crisis, the military regime is continuing its air strikes and bombardments on civilian targets in some of the worst-affected areas, resulting in the deaths of at least 68 civilians since April 4.
