In anticipation of the Hajj 2025 season, the Saudi Arabian authorities have announced restrictions on Omra visas. It is crucial to take note of the following important dates :
- Entry deadline in Saudi Arabia for Umrah visa holders: April 13, 2025.
- Release date Saudi territory for pilgrims: April 29, 2025.
Umrah visas are valid until April 13, 2025, as opposed to the previous one-year validity.
What about April?
By April 2025, only tourist visas will be issuedand will only apply to French, European and American passports. This measure enables foreign passport holders to obtain a tourist visa instead of an Umrah visa. It is therefore possible to apply for a tourist visa to travel to Saudi Arabia with a foreign passport.
The conditions for obtaining a tourist visa remain in force:
- Passport: must be valid for at least 6 months after the planned return date.
- Residence permit: must be valid.
- Passport photo: a recent photo on a white background is required.
When to leave the country before the Hajj?
There is a strict deadline for leaving Saudi Arabia. All travellers must leave Saudi Arabia no later than April 29, 2025. After this date, it will no longer be possible to perform the Umrah. This rule applies to all nationalities without exception.
From April 29, access to Mecca will be restricted and will require a special authorization called a "tasrih"It is not intended for people wishing to perform Umrah on a tourist visa.

These measures are aimed at facilitating the organization and reception of Hajj pilgrims by limiting the number of visitors to the Kingdom in the run-up to this period.
