The TDAC arrival card will be mandatory for arrivals in Thailand from May 1, 2025.

Plan your next trip to Thailand! The landscape of entry formalities in the Kingdom of Siam is changing fast. A new digital procedure, the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC), will become compulsory for all foreign travellers from May 1, 2025..

Goodbye to TM6 paper forms ! We announced it back in January, and now it's much more concrete. The TDAC will definitively replace the old TM6 paper immigration form. From now on, all foreign travellers, with or without a visawill have to fill in this digital arrival card within 72 hours of entering Thailand.

Whether you arrive by air, land or sea, this formality is a must.

How does it work?

The process is designed to be quick and easy. Here are the key steps to completing your TDAC:

  1. Go to the official website : Go to tdac.immigration.go.th and click on "Arrival Card".
  2. Fill in your personal information Full name, date of birth, nationality, passport number, visa number (if applicable), etc...
  3. Enter your travel details Date of arrival, means of transport, purpose of stay, address in Thailand (hotel or home), etc...
  4. Declare your health situation Please list the countries you have visited in the 14 days prior to your arrival. This step is required by the Thai Ministry of Public Health.
  5. Check all information A summary will be sent to you for proofreading and correction.
  6. Enter your e-mail address Your TDAC will be sent to you as a PDF file.
  7. Submit the form Once you have accepted the terms and conditions, click on "Submit". Your card will be generated immediately.
  8. Download and keep your card Keep a printed or digital version of the TDAC with you for the duration of your stay, and present it to immigration on arrival.
Important exceptions : Only people in transit without passing through immigration control and travelers with a "Border Pass for specific border crossings are exempt from this obligation.

A step towards greater efficiency and safety In addition to simplifying administrative procedures for travellers, TDAC will enable the Thai authorities to centralize visitor data and to reinforce sanitary control measures. This system is part of a wider transformation of the country's migration policy, which already includes the deployment of electronic visas (e-Visa). It is important to note that TDAC is not a visa.

Visamundi should be able to offer you personalized assistance with these new arrival cards in the very near future.

What about the tourism tax and the ETA?

Initially scheduled for reintroduction in 2025, the tourist tax of 300 baht has been postponed. The Thai government wants to make sure that the TDAC system is working properly before adding new financial requirements.

Similarly, theElectronic Travel Authorization (ETA)similar to those in force in Europe and the United States, has also been deferred. ETA was designed to screen visa-exempt travellers prior to arrival. For the time being, priority is being given to the implementation of TDAC. It is not excluded that the ETA could be integrated with TDAC in the future.

And we are still awaiting confirmation from Thailand for the visa-free stay reduced to 30 dayswhich will probably be announced in the coming weeks.
