As of January 01, 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy in Pakistan has implemented the electronic visa system for Pakistani citizens. This new policy will make it easier for these nationals to apply for a Thailand visa onlinewithout having to go to an embassy or consulate.
To obtain an e-visa, Pakistanis must complete an e-visa application form. online formEnter your personal details and upload the documents required by the authorities, depending on the type of visa. Once payment has been made online, the e-visa will be sent by email. As processing can take several days, it's advisable to plan ahead when applying for an e-visa.
The eVisa is valid for 60 days and can be used for the following purposes tourism, business or family visits. Pakistanis wishing to stay in Thailand for more than 60 days can extend the validity of their e-visa at a local immigration office.
The new e-visa policy is expected to boost tourism between Pakistan and Thailand. In 2019, over 100,000 Pakistanis visited Thailand, and this number is expected to increase in the coming years.
Thai immigration also grants e-visa eligibility to Afghan nationals.
The e-visa for Thailand is under development since January 01, 2025. The authorities are keen to make this system available to all their consulates and embassies worldwide. The latest news would concern visa-exempt travelers, and the length of stay could be reduced from 60 to 30 days without a visa.
